As Chief Creative Officer for 118 118 Money, David was responsible for leading Brand, Media, Customer Communications, and Customer Experience for one of the UK's most successful brands. 118 118 Money is disrupting the UK financial services industry with unique first to market credit card and unsecured personal loan propositions. With both a customer-first and data-driven approach, David held responsibility for delivering brand strategy and positioning, design strategy, management of the full customer experience and communications lifecycle, including application journeys and mobile, web, app, SMS, and email communications.

kgb connects worldwide consumers with the resources they need with a unique portfolio of complimentary businesses, including the #1 UK directory assistance service, a leading BPO service, and an award winning financial services business. As Global Creative Director for kgb, David was responsible for leading the creative vision of several global brands in the US, UK, France, and Italy.
In order to compete in a rapidly expanding and ultra competitive industry, kgb deals needed to re-brand and re-design it's entire global portfolio. From concept to completion, this challenge was met in three months, followed shortly with the re-design of a full suite of mobile applications, marketing initiatves, and merchandising guidelines.
David helped transform kgb deals from a hyper-local startup into a global Daily Deals player over an 18 month period, eventually becoming the third largest Daily Deal business in the world.

Unigo.com is a website that helps families find, get in and pay for college. The site offers over 250,000 free college reviews, more than 5,000 free articles, and direct video access to college admissions experts. Walt Mossberg of The Wall Street Journal called the site "a college resource built for the age of YouTube and Facebook."
David Koetke was contracted to redesign the existing Unigo.com web presence to help position the brand for scalability, offer a vast expansion of their social media offerings, and to dramatically increase user engagement.
The result was a streamlined yet incredibly feature-rich experience that pushed the boundaries of what a college recommendation experience should be. The design incorporated early implementations of now commonplace social media features such as user feeds, follows and followers, a personalized college recomendation engine, and student favorites. In addition, long before responsive design and media queries entered the CSS and HTML markup vernacular, David implemented a javascript/CSS framework that altered the site's layout and content presentation dependent upon the user's viewport resolution.

Working in collaboration with eBusiness Design and senior executives from 2U, Inc., David was contracted to help define and design the Noodle product and lay out the foundation and early prototype of this ambitious offering.
Started by the founders of the Princeton Review and 2U, Noodle provides educational information from Kindergarten to Graduate School, including comprehensive school profiles, personalized recommendations, and tutoring solutions.
Launched in June 2009 by 2Tor, Inc., The USC Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT@USC) offers current educators and aspiring teachers the ability to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the University of Southern California's Rossier School of Education. More than 1,000 students from 46 states are currently enrolled in the first-of-its-kind online education program.
David provided UX and UI guidance, artwork, and wireframes for the MAT@USC interface, as well as complete website designs for assorted lead generation websites.
The MAT@USC interface had already been pushing the UI boundaries of what could be accomplished in an online learning community, and when the 2U team chose to integrate Google Wave functionality into the MAT@USC 'Community' interface, David provided UI mockups for this particularly ambitious challenge.
David Koetke collaborated with eBusiness Design to design and develop the the UI and UX for Schoolnet's comprehensive Response to Intervention (RtI) management solution.
Schoolnet, Inc. is a leading provider of instructional improvement education software. The Response to Intervention (RtI) system empowers educators to evaluate the needs of all students and quickly provide intervention to students who are falling behind. Teachers are able to identify struggling students, create, track and manage intervention plans, capture progress monitoring assessment data, and deliver detailed reports.
The complexities of such robust student tracking software presented unique design and UI challenges. Working within an existing Schoolnet look and feel, the UI needed to guide users quickly and easily without overwhelming them with data. The resulting designs focused on smooth interaction, usability and visual indicators to prompt user behavior.
CORE-K12 is an education publisher and consulting partner, providing technology-based products, services, and solutions for schools, state departments of education, and institutions of learning. CORE-K12's initiatives range from research-based instructional materials for challenged learners - to groundbreaking innovations in diagnostic assessment, representing the very latest in psychometric applications.
Assessment Center™ is CORE-K12's formative assessment program, used to design, administer, and report resulting data from school, district, or state formative assessments. It is powerful and eminently intuitive for use by teachers and administrators, and due to its origins and history of success, Assessment Center is regarded by many as American education's premiere formative assessment program.
In December 2008, eBusiness Design was commissioned to design and develop an online lawyer-assisted do-it-yourself legal service to enable consumers to handle their legal needs themselves at a substantial discount to hiring a lawyer. The service would allow users to quickly and easily create customized legal forms by guiding them through an online questionnaire.
Given the complex and customized nature of legal document preparation. The UI needed to rely heavily upon an extremely robust search interface, as well as simultaneously provide step by step guidance throughout the extensive process of case evaluation, discovery, mediation & settlement, and trial. Working with eBusiness Design as a UI, IA, and Design consultant, David created product wireframes, UX and UI design.
As Classroom Connect's Creative Director, David managed and directed the interface, interaction, and content design for dozens of custom professional development clients that had licensed the eSchool® Online platform, including educational publishers and numerous individual school districts across the United States. Teaching Algebra to All Students is a professional development course using a patented convergent technology that delivers comprehensive, research-based training content via the Internet, combined with video footage on CD-ROMs. Each module features instructive video segments of master educators modeling and discussing research-based instructional strategies.

As eSchool® Online's Creative Director, David led a team of executive producers, instructional designers, sales managers, and engineers to define next generation features of eSchool® Online 4.0, the world's first convergent online software platform. He spearheaded the interface and application design of the product and worked with executives at Blackboard, Inc. to design and develop a companion Learning Management System (LMS).
The result was an interactive platform so robust that using it felt more like a desktop application than a web-based experience. So much so that many clients using the eSchool Online platform often asked for additional installation CDs. We took that as a compliment. OR such misunderstandings showed us that we were on to to something.
